900 ace

I've got a 2010 800 MXZ XRS. I love it. It's got all kinds of snot when I want it. Problem is it's a Power Tech, (carborated).

I'm thinking of trading it in on a 2015 Renigade Adreneline with a 900 ACE.

I've never had a four stroke before. My 800 had 151 HP, the 900 only has 90 HP.

I'm a little conserned that I might not be satisfied with the power difference. Anyone have experience with this change from an 800 to a 900 four stroke?

Comparing the torque is what you are basically wanting to know. Not sure if the specs are easily located. I would guess they are very close and likely more from the 4 stroke. Skidoo clutching is pretty good out of the box is it not?

Your going to be disappointed bug time going from the 800 to a 900 ace. Not even in the same park. Compare a hemi to a 4 banger in a car. That how's it's going to be like

The ace 900 is likened to a slow 600 2 stroke on most forums. I think you will be sad when you realize what you have if you go through with it.

Out of curiosity, what is the 'problem'? (aside from the etec being all sorts of better than the ptec...)

They are notorious for crank problems. Kind of a ticking time bomb. The etecs are no better until 2012 from what I hear.

800's are ok, I have seen lots with high mileage trail queens, I have also seen lots with the crank hanging out, but they are usually at the point where the isoflex should have been replaced, I like them, just don't like the way they rattle and vibrate... lol, doo should've never got rid of the 700 motors!!!!!

you got to remember that there were tons sold, but you only hear of the bad ones, cause the guys with the good ones are riding, and not complaining on the net... lol

Ya, there's nothng wrong with it right now. It's a bit of a pain wth no electric start, but other than that it's still fine. There' sonly 3500 miles on it still.

I do have a buddy though, (his was an 07) who just put $2500 into general maintenace things and three days later he blew the engine.

I don't want to be that guy. So I thought I'd upgrade.

I'v always said that I would buy a four stroke. I don't want to buy premium gass, oil and it would be nice to have a little less maintenance. But I really like the power my 800 had. It's hard to give that up.

Should look at a 1200 doo. With some minor bolt ons they run well and closer to the 800 power

Does anyone have any input as to how good the 900 ACE is?
Has anyone had issues?
How many miles are you putting on these things?

There is a 110hp reflash for the motor in the PWC world. It could carry over to sleds.
