2010 Polaris Pro-R NEED HELP

looking for your thoughts; I have a 2010 pro-r 600 , after it sits over night it will not start, lots of spark but no fuel. if I put a few drops of fuel in the cyl. it starts first pull and will run great for the rest of the day you can shut it off and restart with no problem but the next day no way, I have heard that there is a 2 wire female type connector buy the clutch with a brown and a red wire and buy putting 12+ to the red and brown to a ground and this should put power to the pump for priming the system , also been told that a check valve must be buggered in the pump and allowing the pump to bleed out , maybe from sitting empty over the summer, no leaks when its running and it runs like it should, I don't know much about these new efi units so looking for your input thanks for now..................

here is a scan from the service manual for your electrical system.

I will do the fuel section next.

this will show you the elec. prime part of your question.

page 4.51 gives the recommended steps a tech. should follow if engine is not starting. i would start by going through this list step by step from top to bottom.

my guess on cold starting problems for this sled its either going to be fuel tank vent plugged, vacuum hose plugged or malfunctioning or your fuel filter needs replacing.

My guess is low pressure or losing prime when it sits. Let us know!

Had this issue, when worked at a poo dealership.Thinking back now there is a voltage reg bolted to belt gaurd and there are certain wires that supply voltage to fuel pump for easier starting.Thinking there are 3 yellow and a brown and red.The brown red look like a trailer connector style.Unplug avd recoil over. Then once started plug back in.Then all off sudden the engine rpms will run -up and die out with no fuel.

fuel pressure

so yep the plug with the brown / red wires located above the prim. clutch which can be used for priming the system after replacing the filter or any other repairs that would drain the system or test fuel pressure with out having to run the sled in the shop. so seeing as how my sled has e-start I ran a wire from the batt. to a temporary on switch then to the red wire in the plug and brown to ground now if it sits over night hit the button for a sec or 2 and starts as it should. once the tank gets filled and the pump sits full it may correct its self, I will never park my sled empty again....thanks for your input

Every sled I've owned over all the years I have never drained. Ever. Fresh gas when I park it in spring, start every 3 weeks, spin track, goose throttle few times for main jets, switch out gas in fall for fresh stuff, repeat start up. Ready to go. Have stayed with this procedure for so long because it has never let me down. Maybe it's wrong, but it has faithfully worked for every sled I've owned.

yes I agree I always make sure my sleds get put away with a close to full tank , I bought this sled in spring and it was raining like crazy the day I picked it up so it went straight into the shed , never checked till mid summer when I fired all of them up it started fine but ran out of fuel as it was running, so now when I went to start it would not start on fresh fuel,i have been told that there is a check valve in the pump somewhere and because it ran out of fuel and was left it may have cause it to stick open , so I am hopeing that after I fill the tank full with fresh fuel and some seafoam it may loosen up if not a new pump it will get, but for now we will try it as is with the prime up button
