Moto Ski was started in 1963 and sold to Bombardier in 1971...after 1971 is when the two brands had similar looking models.

Moto Ski Wikipedia

My 1971 Moto Ski Capri 292 was bought new by my dad and I inherited it from him 19 years ago. It's all original with very few miles on it.

Back in the day I rode with a guy who had a late 70's Motoski Futura. I seem to recall that machine was basically the same as a Skidoo Everest. I think Motoskis were unique until the mid 70's or so. My kid started out on a 72 or so Cadet 250 and I think it was unique.

well after the first ride on snow I found some issues.

belt is slipping a bit, hoping it's just wore out and too narrow, but I might need to do some clutch work.

one of the oil lines from the pump to the intake cracked. and those buggers are impossible to find so I'm likely just going to remove the oil injection system and just run pre-mix in the tank. easier that way and makes a bit more room in the engine bay, less weight, cant see any downsides here.

oh and the re-coil spring decided to break so I've got a new one of those on the way also. just glad I had that early snow to get an early test ride in to find these issues before the season was half over. hopefully things don't take forever to get here and im riding soon.

well not a moto ski but vintage just the same.
1973 merc hurricane Mark 2. It was given to me with a case of merc oil 25:1 oil and two belts. Going to try take it apart this winter but work is getting in the way. By next season should be done. It has been stored inside all it's life. Last time it has seen snow is 1984. It has 389 miles on it. hope to make it shine like rws's moto ski.

alright finally got all the parts and fixed again, runs very nicely now! new belt fixed the slipping issues, old belt wasnt worn down but I guess the rubber was so old and dried that it just wasnt happy.

all is well now though. fixed recoil, etc. did about 2 hours of riding yesterday without any issues. next step is to get a trail pass and do some good riding.

I had the exact Moto-ski Capri when I was a young lad, lol. It came with a matching trunk type trailer on skis. Would have been an awesome fishing unit.
