I actually was looking at both, so either spray in or blow in. It is for my attached garage 24x28

Thanks

Blown in is pretty easy to do yourself. Most places will give you the blower to use when you buy the insulation from them.

if you are looking at spray foam....and you do the underside of the roof you will have to cover it. ...some building codes say you have to cover it with drywall, etc...as it is not a fire safe install...

I know...grrr...I wanted exposed rafters but noooo

we blew in insulation in our garage 28x36....i had never done it before, it was easy and it it only cost 750$ we bought the bales, and the machine was free, did it in 4 hours....
One person in the attic with a headlamp (me), and one person feeding the machine (wife)...
I gave the square footage to the lumber yard and they gave me the amount of bales....I then divided the bales in half and told my wife to let me know when i got to the halfway point....
Easy...easy....

There is a guy in Swan River that does spray foam for about $1 a square foot @ 1" thick. Not sure about the prices in the city, but should be comparable or cheaper. My Dad just did the crawl space under his cabin with the do it yourself kits and he was buying the kits for about $800 and each kit does about 600 square feet at about 1" thick. He didn't find out about the guy in Swan until he was done. He was not impressed.

I have done the attic in my house with blow in, and yes the place that I bought the insulation from lent me the blower. It is pretty easy, just be sure to put insul stops in to keep from blowing the insulation into the soffits and blocking the airflow.
