PST on used ORV's?

Do they charge you pst when you go to register an off road vehicle?

Yes they do. They use the Gold Book value. So if your bill of sale is less than the Gold Book value, you will pay on the higher Gold Book value.

It's called the gold book because every item it contains, it values as though it were made of gold. This way they can charge you more PST

Ya it,s true the bank valued my truck at 6gs but the gold book said over 8 gs go figure.Also I don't think there is a condition rating either

Ok, so no disencentive to buy from a dealer if the price is the same. Is there GST on used vehicles at dealers?

Dealers will charge gst unless it's a consignment sale.

Get a quote in paper on the PST valve, and or keep your pst receipt when you register.
Then if you have to deal with mpi on the value of the ATV for a write off or stolen. They will low ball the snot out of you. Just throw that at them. They value it at X amount for tax so that must be the value. I did it and it worked greatly in my favor to get what I needed to replace a machine.

You buy a used car or truck in Saskatchewan and you don't pay pst,not like here where they collect pst for as many times the vehicle is sold,just sold my sled and bought a new one and it's a 4 months wait to get the pst back on the sold sled,fawking government makes me sick to my stomach lol
