historically normally its fairly wet and with the amount of moisture last fall going into a good snow year it should be the same. We have always run the wet run without much trouble as we are not hammer down type of people more about letting the tires grind us through. Some complain about hidden rocks under water. Since we are grinders not hammer down the rocks never caused us any trouble. This has always been my fav. derby

But being 2 months away yet who knows what the weather will throw at us!

at end of this message is a short vid another member here made of a private ride and a link to another thread that has lots of pic's of a previous derby in the area so would guess something like those could be exxpected.

Probably will also be an open public ride the following day as well starting in Woodridge. So camping in the area or renting a motel and making it a full weekend gets in a lot of riding!!

That was a good day boak. I imagine it will be even tougher to get stuck there this year with the upgrades I have done since then. But I am willing to try!!!

Thanks. That gives me everything I need except the entry fee. But I can call Candice for that if needed.

Fingers crossed for some timely rains.
Swamps are wet but in general the fire hazard in the area is marked as high.

Met conservation on the trail last Saturday. 2 trucks carrying 2 quads. One out of Sprague and one out of Marchand. Both were a couple of nice guys with some good recommendations about carrying a fire extinguisher and/or shovel in case of fire. Just professionals doing their jobs with no complaints from us riders. BUT they also mentioned with the moisture situation getting worse a back country travel ban is always something that can be considered.

Ontario and QC needs to send some of their rains this way.

Are you saying this derby is canceled or just being monatored? Waiting for the fire hazard to become low?

not saying either.

I am not attached to org. of this derby at all. But it is one of my all time favorite.

Post is just an observation that its dry out there, that conservation/RCMP are following up on their letter of about a month ago saying they are increasing their presence in the area, and if we do not get some rain do not be surprised if we start to see some restrictions out there.

I am sure if derby organizers get contacted or if new info comes forward from authorities they will let us know asap. Other than that.... my winch rebuild will be completed in a few days and will be at this derby come rain or shine.

Cheers

Cool. Thanks for the information. Hoping to have my foot fully healed and all wheel bearings replaced/the machine put back together in time for this derby. Murphy and my foot have decided to forbid me to go to the St. Laurent derby this year. Not happy with that dessision... grrr...

This is right from one of the organizers.

We 're a go for everything. Campers park at the arena and registration and parking at the flea market shelter. 5$ a hand. Food available on trail. Bike wash after at the arena the fire dept will be wash bikes down for donation.
