lol, yup, hello pasture cleaner. Did my dandelions the other day. 2 acres with a backpack sprayer and the US version of Par3. Dandelions are dead.

I've gotten Brian Bowman desire to yellow up Winnipeg with dandelions under control over the last few years at my place but this morning I see the caterpillars are multiplying at lightening speed.

Saturday I looked at my trees and didn't see any crawlies or silk strings. This morning it was not hard to find a few silks and lots of the little ones starting their desire to strip the trees of leaves. What a difference 48 hrs made. Me thinks in my area of Wpg. we are going to have a banner year for those little crawling buggers. So I put a stop to them this morning at least at my place.

you put a STOMP to them or a STOP to them? they are not even close to being bad where i am in St. Andrews. I have malathion to use if they get bad. Yeah, i know, not the most environmentally friendly, but that shit works like all balls out.

I used Banvel and 24D but I waited till most of the dandelions went to seed so the neighbor's bees would have somewhere to play.... now I get to do it again.

I'm going for pure or dead, depends if I mix wrong or not I guess.

But to keep it like that I will have to roundup the neighbors lawns at night since they feel no need to cut their grass or keep their dandelions under control.

A neighborhood effort is needed, but is hard to get.

SEDGEHAMMER+ is a selective herbicide for the control of nutsedge and other weeds in turfgrass, landscaped areas and other specified non-crop areas

You can buy it on Amazon, Walmart etc...at least in the USA.

Sedgehammer+

note that it attacks the visible plant and the Rhizomes

its a tough one but look for a herbicide that contains DCBN (dichlobani sp?). if you can find it something like often found in products that go for root kils like Root Reach/Root Kill or Oblitaroots. Tree huggers will say use high doses of viniger but this can pooch the soil by making it very aidic so don't try if you are in an area that acidic soil can already be a problem lime where evergreens are.

Thanks, I will look into those. I read that it has a protective coating that makes it hard to kill. The growth timing helps as well I suppose.

I was told that vinegar only kills the top of plants, not the root.
