Say goodbye to the Arctic Cat name

I guess Bob will be supporting the Textron name from now on for new ATV's and UTV's from the sounds of it.

Hopefully they keep the factory operating in Thief River Falls we had a nice tour of the place a couple years ago with our (at the time) baby girl.

Ya I knew that awhile ago . Already the 500 and 700 atv are pretty well kymko quads with arctic cat stickers on them .They are also saying they have there own motors now which is not true .They have a new supplier Textron who they receive all the parts and assemble the motor in st cloud they do not come as a crate motor. Just cause they assemble the motor doesn't make it there's. I can order a complete Edelbrock engine in pieces put it together can't put my own name on it.

I heard a rumor that they no longer going to be making the "Sport" side by sides, any truth to this?

Haven't heard anything about that I thought they were still pretty popular I know the 'Sport' version of the Wildcat Trail seemed to be a pretty good seller.

so are they now going to be collectors items. I got lots of arctic cat swag. and the deals on cat is it to get rid of the name on old stock so they can change it to Textron off road. I hear they use Webber motors. I had one once just gong to say No thanks bin there done that bought the tee shirt.
Textron just sounds too industrial. It's got no " POP". Oh you drive a Textron is that an EZ GO golf cart or some thing.

I think Textron's real reason why they bought Arctic Cat is because they are also a Defence company and probably want to compete with Polaris's Defence Division. Polaris has been marketing a fast attack type SxS for Special Operations Forces like the Canadian JTF2 and CSOR for quite some time now. So it wouldn't be much of a surprise to me if they do the same with a Wildcat Sport or 1000 looking SxS.

I wasn't taking a cheap shot at Arctic Cat by the way Bob just saw a post about Textron on Facebook.

Could be the best thing that ever happened at Arctic Cat. No one knows the future. About the only thing you can be sure of these days, is change.

But if the product was so good and such a winner, why change the recipe at such a great time for them??

Not bashing, just curious.
