Got Real Lucky Today !!

Got real lucky today. 4 riders......198 miles in Southeast Manitoba and Northern Minnesota. Staged in Woodridge. Little chilly but all was well..........until of course a deer jumped out of the bush in front of me........actually to the side of me. I think I clipped him in the head/neck area and he bounced off but not before busting up a bunch of my plastic on my brand new, 1 month old, 2017 Pro-S.

Could have been much worse. Luckily he missed the front bumper. If he had jumped out just 2 seconds earlier I would have hit him head on and broadside and he would have knocked me off the sled. Probably wouldn't be typing right now. It'll need an insurance adjuster and my dealer to see just how much damage there is........hoping it's just body plastic. Probably more damage than my deductible though. 25 miles from the trailer. Feeling like a really dodged a bullet today.

Keep your head on a swivel while you're riding. This thing came from nowhere and all I saw was his head......no body.....and he bounced off right back where he came from in a flash exploding the plastic. Damn lucky !!

Unfortunately, Bambi didn't make it.

It was weird. Came out of the bush from the side like a dog trying to bite a tire, made contact, and bounced back in the bush. Sad....clean headshot I think and probably broke it's neck.

You likely missed understood her when she said, Oh Deer, poor you!

Good to hear you're OK. I've seen more deer on the trails this year for some reason. Also, have seen wolves on the trails in the Badger / Woodridge area and tracks of wolves a bit all over in the S.E.

Be safe.

I use private ORV insurance. Much cheaper than MPI but deductible is not waived for wildlife.

I know with MPI your deductible is waived for a vehicle /wildlife collision but not sure about ORV's.

With private insurance the wildlife collision is no fault so your premium does not rise and any collision, fault or no fault, does not cost you demerits/points on your license.
