Well, I like this site and wouldn't want to see it go. If things are getting bad why not expand the trackshare site and do what 40% of the internet already does: www.pornshare.com

I cannot believe that there is not already a site with this web domain name!

I myself have hesitated a few times to post for the fear of it going to far and getting out of control and I'm not a dealer. With the way some threads go it doesn't surprise me that some dealers are stepping out. Don't get me wrong I've met a lot of great people on here and made some good friends, but also met some people that I wish I hadn't.
Unfortunately, through many years of moderating and trying to keep everything as clean and as smoothly running as possible, we were bombarded by the members, as well as being called the most heavily moderated site on the web, and with that, as well as so much bashing for our over moderation (aka the "trackshare police", yours truly of course. lol), that we pulled back the reigns, and let it go, just as the majority wanted. I now find it very interesting to hear more and more requests for us to go back to moderating more, by many of which have called us down so hard in the past, (this does not include, or mean you in any way mudforce), for the one thing everyone hated us for. One tends to grow a thicker skin from all the ridicule over how bad we apparently once were, to the point that it wasn't worth all the time and energy to constantly babysit threads into the wee morning hours, with discussions and debates about what to stop and what to let go. I guess you'd have to look at how much effort was really put in behind the scenes of what you all don't see in order to understand it from both sides to see why we pulled back. I'm not sure many late joiners will interpret this post properly, unless they were filled in on the history of trackshare, and how things were back when, including when everyone abandoned us to go to the other site that shutdown many years ago (pathfinders), which was a whole other bag of bolts, so we will continue to do as we always have, and keep persevering as who we are as a whole, with opinions always discussed and dealt with as we always have. I will say it again, enjoy what we have, because one will miss all of this when the day comes that it is all gone.

Yes, I kind of miss Vinny as well. I do my best to support trackshare vendors when I can. I am not a big time customer, but I have to presume every little bit counts these days. I urge all members to continue to support the vendors and keep this site current and relavent as it has always been.

Also, please bear in mind some of our members may or may not be trackshare vendors, so if a compliment is warranted to one of our local service providers, try to make sure they get noticed.

Keep it local folks.........you may need them one day !!

I enjoy trackshare. I don't come on much in summer, but enjoy sledding posts in winter. I am sure it will survive in some form

It would be a shame to see this site go down. I have learned so much from a lot of posts and would never have purchased items from some of the vendors if they weren't on here. Met a lot of great folks over the years as well, but I have also stopped posting due to the fact that someone will bash anything you say. Sad that people get so brave behind a computer, but would never say some of those things in person. Hats off to the group that works behind the scene to keep this site going.

Well said. I, for one, would not let a few malcontents with cheezy or insideous remarks stop me from posting........contrary.........take a stand when you are right............appologize when you are wrong and carry on.

nicely said.... would be sad if it goes dark...I think that's why the moderation theme came up with some people remembering and hoping to get back to the kinder / gentler / sharing community that existed here say 10 years ago. Seems more and more people are forgetting that there are others out there and they too are allowed to have thoughts, ideas, positions, etc... Not everyone has to agree all the time we just need to get along and enjoy what we have

Have to have a thicker skin now days for sure. But still easy to remember the "Negative Nellies" who you know will always take a run at certain comments, themes and people... for those arses I love the ignore button.

Personally i hope this site stays as there is a wealth of knowledge members here have and no everyone uses Facebook. I have or had been a member of many sites like this one including Dootalk, HCS, heck even atvpathfinders i think it was and probably about 10 or so other sites. Now this is the only one i remembermy password for as I use FB. You may not like it but it is the reality of things today. Many vendors show up on pages there where they don't have to advertise so the publicity is free for them. I have also found i can ask a question here about an issue with my sled or quad and i may get 1 response within the day..where as on FB I may get 30 or 40 responses within the forst 10 minutes. It is just the way the younhlger crowds are going and the vendors are following.

Wow , would hate to loose this site . I don`t post a lot but come here every day . You guys have helped me revive my old Polaris Indy and now it`s back on the trail . I have gotten some great deals on the classifieds and some great info on places to ride my Sportsman 400 . I feel that Facebook is OK for connecting with family and old friends , but we need specialty forums like this . I joined Trackshare because I sled and ride ATV`s - can`t get the same info on Facebook . I hunt so I chose a hunting forum over a Facebook group and I fish , so I did the same there . Let`s get this forum going :)

Mayb they should put the donate option back up? I probably only donated once, but would b willing to donate more to keep the site alive. I am sure others would to??

As a new start up dealership I inquired about sponsorship. I don't think the price at a few hundred dollars a month is necessarily too much, but at this point in my business it might be for me. It would be nice if maybe a sponsor could pay per post?? Just a thought??

It's just over $100/month for a full forum and banner with unlimited advertising - Never was a few hundred / month in fact its been static for at least 6 year. It's a fraction of what other sites charge to advertise and I like to think that I personally send enough people their way to cover the advertising every year. The main goal is to keep the site alive and pay the bills and one sponsor doesn't cut it. Not sure why everyone picked this year to leave, sad that free advertising on facebook, instagram etc. is taking over and leaving the small local sites to parish. Seems like the same thing local dealers have been saying about big box and US shopping but its different when the shoe is on the other foot I guess.

I've done business with Crikside, Adventure, Chudds, and Specialty Tires all because of this website. Not saying that I won't continue to do business with them but the point is I would not have known about them if it weren't for Trackshare.

This website has been invaluable to me. The wealth of knowledge I have gained and the friends I have made have been outstanding.
