Rear drive shaft removal

I have a 2008 sportsman 800 that has a bad U joint and was wondering if anyone knows if the rear dif has to moved back in order to take the drive shaft out? I knocked out the roll pin and I'm not sure if there is enough room to pry the shaft back to get it out. Or if it will just come out with some force?

Just did one the other day. Had to move the diff and it was a real Bear to move with all the bolts out. 5ft Bar and a second set of hands goes a long ways.

Rear drive shaft removal

I disassembled the prop shaft ujoint. With the cups out I was able to get enough room. IIRC but it was like 7 years ago lol
