How to replace a Front U-Joint

Seeing as Ive read people asking on here how to replace the front u-joint on arctic cat atv's , I thought id share how i did mine.

first - string the atv up on its rear bumper and remove the skid plate, this gives full access to the u- joint. Note : you do not have to remove front differential or unbolt it in any way.
2. remove c- clips from the old ujoint, and then pound the u joint out with a hammer and punch. clean the yoke area
3. take the new u joint and remove the caps. take the u joint cross and install it in place.
4. Install ONE cap at a time - this will insure you dont loose any needle bearings. As soon as you have one cap in place, secure it with a new c-clip. Then start with the next cap on the opposite side. repeat procedure for all 4 caps.
This is actually quite easy, took about an hour. Second last picture is all the tools i needed to complete this job.
I also did an axel seal on it today- it was also very easy with the bike standing on its rear bumper.
hope this helps anyone trying to figure out just how to install a u-joint.

That tool box gets quite the workout. I just ordered another side cabinet for it just for fixing arctic cats. It will be 13 feet wide, 30 inches deep and all stainless steel top. :)
