Test Drive - Scrambler 850 & Ranger XP 900

Hey Guys

I Had a chance to ride both the new 2013 Scrambler 850 HO and the Polaris Ranger 900 XP today.

We started off with the Ranger 900XP and took it for a spin around the test track that stretched 9 miles (Split into a few routes). The Polaris Ranger XP is the Cadillac of Rangers. With the added 5'' Wheel base to the rear (only added 2'' to the overall length) along with the ProStar Engine mounted in the rear and new drive train it rides amazing. Great handling, Amazing Power, and the smoothest ride around with the new chassis.

With the 2013 Scrambler 850 HO I had the opportunity to drive the Base White Model first. Once mounting the Scrambler the riding style you are naturally comfortable. Once I started the machine I fell in love... It sounds amazing! Took it for a ride around the track and it is agile and handled the bumpy terrain like a pro the only thing I noticed was I felt muscles I don't usually feel because I spoiled myself and got a Power Steering 850 Sportsman. (Did I mention it has some pretty crazy power?)

After completing the track I returned to take the Scrambler 850 HO Limited Edition for a ride! This was the one you could definitely tell the difference. With the Power Steering and Fox Podium X Shocks it just handled and absorbed the bumps like a champ.

All in all the Ranger and Scrambler are definitely worth taking for a ride. They add a whole new class of Luxury and Power to the Polaris Line-up.

I knew it !!!!!! Just saw the website, I had sent many emails to Polaris asking about a new scrambler. I couldn't see them letting Bombardier sell so many renegades and not do anything to compete. Basically it looks like they took a 850 sportsman and gave it rack-less plastics and re-tuned suspension. Glad they kept the hi-low trans and FINALLY a Polaris quad with fox shocks that's NOT a predator/outlaw. Too bad i just got a 2012 800 in may but now something to trade up to in a few (or next year) lol.

Dan I'm sure I speak for lots of other members on here but THANK YOU and everyone else who requested a beefed up Scrambler. Because of all the awesome people who wanted it, it is now available. Polaris is very suggestion and consumer oriented so they read and appreciate the feedback.

Now lets think of the next new awesome thing they should bring out and let them know.

I would like to see them create a similar type mud machine built from factory like the XMR or Mudpro....Think they need to get into that market also....just my thoughts.

I agree with you 100%. Cat and Can-am both did it, now it's time for Polaris to step up to the plate and show them both what a real mud machine looks like! I think an 850 factory mudder from Polaris (or maybe even a 900??) would be a big hit with recreational riders.

I think Polaris has been so busy with Ranger's and Rzr's and have dominated the sxs market and the 850 sportsman was a hit since it came out also but i can see them re-focus on atv's and see where they can be into more markets. The factory mud quads are very niche market but it's the exposure with racing. Nobody at Polaris wants cat or bombardier to dominate a market involved with racing. Remember this ALL started with snowmobiles WAY back in the day ! I bet we see a mud version of the new scrambler, possibly with possibly some factory installed high lifter products like axles, rad relocate, high intake, lift (i.e can-am and gorilla)
