Fabric Buildings

Anyone have any thoughts/experience or recommendations on a fabric building. A new metal shop is a couple of years away for me, so considering a 30'wide fabric shop to give some protection from the elements for my work vehicles. I have spoken to Winkler, CoverAll, Kodiak, and G&B. These are not cheap either. Thanks in advance!

I have a 22'x20' Kodiak. I really like it. It does what I need it to and is very sturdy and durable

Thanks for the reply guys! I am going to contact these suggestions to see if they have anything in a smaller size like 16x40. I have a spot about this size that I could put it and wouldn't have to do any ground prep.

Yeah they look like they have some great prices, but I haven't seen them in person. On price alone it is hard to be confident in the integrity of a cheap building in the event of a good Manitoba winter storm. I could be wrong maybe other have had luck with theirs?

Fabric Buildings

Just FYI
A 30x72 building like this
Will run just under $5000
Plus the posts in the ground
Can be made to free stand as well without posts.
Also can be any length.
15 year warranty

A lot more affordable than I expected. Do you know off hand the height of the peak (apex) as a free standing bldg.? That could work very well in the meantime if I add a rear wall and a door on front.

The 30 single has a height of 12’6”
PLUS your wall height.
Free standing would be adjustable height as well.
Usually a 5 or 6 foot pony wall is used.

If it’s short term the fabric solid ends will be fine. But longer term you should consider strapping and tinning your ends.
The main cover will last like 20 years.
The fabric solid ends only about 10 just because of the amount of movement they do in the wind

I wouldn't have to sell my existing junk...I could buy more. Nice!

I will check with Red River Planning and see what regulations they have with regard to height.

Yeah I like the sounds of a solid pony wall and proper doors on it as well. I have heard you can insulate these fabric buildings, but not worth the cost. Good to hear your dad got good service from his.

We have a 24' x 54' insulated hobby shop. It was cheaper than doing a wood structure.
