Home Furnace / AC Maintenance

I have a 2 year old high eff gas furnace, A/C, and HRV in my home.

I change the furnace filter regularly.
Clean the outdoor AC condenser coils / fins and fan yearly.
Also clean the HRV foam filters, core filter, and condensate line.

How often should I be having these serviced / tuned up by a pro?
I've read online every year, every other year, and never.

Anything else I should be doing myself?

thanks!

id get a carbon monoxide detector and not worry about getting serviced, as long as you keep doing what you're doing you are good to go!

you could always pull the flame sensor out and use light grit sand paper on it to clean it

This for sure! I have to clean mine at least twice a season.

I also have a transformer buzzing in mine, it is only 3 years old

Dad owns a hearing and plumbing company and on a gas furnace you don't service anything till somethi g breaks. All a cash grab off course other people will tell you different just like if you put a cold air intake in a vehicle it's voids your warranty lol. Or if you change your oil at home instead of at the dealers no warranty lol.
