Yamaha engines in Arctic Cat Sleds!

Was chatting with a friend of mine yesterday. He was telling me a couple of days ago it was released that Suzuki will not be building engines for Arctic Cat anymore. Arctic Cat will be installing Yamaha engines from now on. Anymore else heard this or is it just a rumor? The friend that told me this is injolved in the snowmobile industry and he is a upright kind of guy.

This has been a rumour for quite a while now. They have been working together on the kid's 120 sled already.

I am not buying the rumor about this. Arctic Cat just built their own engine plant so why would they start using Yamaha engines? A couple of episodes ago Snowtrax had the CEO of AC featured and he also said that AC would start building their own engines for the 2015 model year and the last engines they would be purchasing from Suzuki would be in Dec 2013.

AC purposely bought out all of the Suzuki shares to the tune of 79 million so I can't see them immediately jumping into bed with Yamaha.

Or Yamaha may outright purchase Arctic Cat?? It's a stretch but who knows??? Decisions like this are usually kept tight lipped until their announcement.

This is what I heard from my Yamaha dealer. That Yamaha will be supplying there older 4 stroke technology for a few of the Artic cat models. And in turn Artic cat will be building them a new chassis. It looks like the waiting will be over on Feb 20/2013 we will see.

I thinks it's the other way around where arctic cat will supply the frames and Yamaha will put there engine in it to sell as a Yamaha. Yamaha is the one who needs a new chassis cat needs nothing they have a 4 stroke with a turbo for the same price if not cheaper then a shitty yammy

IMO "shitty yammy" does not need anything in the way of new technology that Arctic Cat could provide. Arctic Cat is a small mom and pop operation in comparison. Yamaha is just moving in a different direction concentrating on 4 stroke technology. Just wait til the tree huggers succeed in banning all 2 smoke engines. Then what?

Japan is not the same as China. I do believe (after a quick search)their minimum wage is the same as ours or higher depending on where you live. They have more employees because they are a larger company.
