Manitoba cabin fees

I see the moratorium on fee increases has been extended through the 2020 season. Good news.

Moratoriums are usually viewed as good news in the short term, but, when the moratorium is over, the fee's usually rise to the level where they would have been if the moratorium did not take place.

If you remember when the hydro rates were "frozen" the five or so year period thereafter saw dramatic rate increases.

We know costs are going to rise non the less, so, in my opinion, it would be better in the long run to accept some incremental cost increase.

The problem I see with this fee structure is that it is not managed properly because the funds go into general revenue. It should be a stand alone program.

I would think its any ones guess. You sure could be right. The incompetence in Manitoba Hydro is famous.
