Reverse issue

I have a '13 F1100 Sno Pro Ltd that won't go in to reverse. It was working fine until Sunday. Unloaded off the trailer, no problem. Got stopped by a big drift and had to reverse, nothing. I did some reading in forums and found out that the error message I was getting (ECU 25) meant the reverse wasn't engaging. The fixes were: waiting a few miles and trips and it might come back, jerking the drive clutch clockwise a couple of times, dropping the rear end or warming up the sled.
Has anyone else had this issue and, if so, what was your fix?
I still have warranty until the end of February but don't want to leave it with the dealer since we have some great snow and weather right now.

You can check my Wildwood thread. I'm on a 2014 Viper......Yamacat.......and I think the reverse motor is a Cat part.

Mine went out while pounding moguls this past weekend.

My symptoms were no reverse indicator or engagement. No beeping. Headlights dimmed when reverse button pressed. No error message.

Just read yours

right after I put up my post. There was apparently an issue with the actuator on the 2012 models that was fixed in 2013 (so I read). I had no beep, no reverse and the repair message. Other than that, the sled ran fine.

Mine too and I was told I could run it with no reverse without hurting the machine. Not my style to run a machine that's not fully functioning. I don't want to get caught out in the middle of nowhere when I knew there was a problem that needed to be looked at.

I've read stories of guys stuck in reverse.

Poor design on cats part. Used to do several a week at dealership. There was updates even on 13 after all the 2012 "fixes"

Live in Brandon but bought the sled in Winnipeg. The reverse seems to have come back after I wiggle the clutch. Haven't been out since. My warranty is up at the end of February so I will likely get it in before then if it acts up again.

If you can, call a local dealership in Brandon and see if they have the part in stock. Mine was replaced in under an hour and I had no down time.
