Anyone that would argue that the Cat 800 isnt the most reliable 800 2 stroke in the market is un-educated.

Well done.

i think all companys have good products, you just have to look after your stuff maintain it properly and drive it properly and it will last for you . But yes you have to admit this sled is making you take a notice . Now the question is how much more will he dare try to get from it. I think well into its 20 thou

We rarely do engine overhauls on the 800 Suzuki engines .10 to 15 thousand miles are common. We can't understand why people put up with machines that need low hour overhauls. There is a reason why Cat wins so many cross country races.

The dirty zuke is undeniably the most reliable engine...but there's more to a sled than just that. Chassis comes to mind..

D and I keep saying Cat should be giving you a trail sled every year to test ride. We bought our z1 turbos due to your posts and that was before we met you.

RWS, is it still on warranty?

IMO, you are the ultimate high mile tester for AC in the Midwest.

Hamm's Repair in Warren MN...I had the same machine and had 20,700 miles on when I totaled it hitting a pressure ridge. He's had this one a while and could come down on price. Only has 1,400 miles...like new.

good idea...everyone write to Cat and tell them if they would like a 4 stroke test ridden with lots of mile put on next season I'd be happy to drive down to Thief River Falls any time and pick up a 2018 XF9000 Crosstour. And if they want a 2 stroke test ridden a 2018 XF8000 Crosstrek ES. I do have a double trailer and could pick up both and ride them alternately returning them in the spring for tear down and analysis. And of course I'd document every ride with GPS maps and video/pictures just like I've done for years of all my rides. bah..hah..hah...never happen

You would like the Thundercat. When I test rode the cats and poos a few weeks ago at Chudds I fell in love with that and the Polaris assault. Didn't care for the new 8000 ctek 2. My dilemma is, do I become Thunderwoman or Assaulted Biotch. HAHA!

My 2017 Assault was consistently cheaper on fuel than a yamaha apex every stop. was very surprised. Seems to use almost litre of oil every 100 miles though but that aint such a bad thing, those new poo 800's are finally bulletproof. dealer told me they might have a new 800 motor coming out though
