all im tryong to point out is you never used to see it in the past few years, but all of a sudden its all you see on advertising and marketing. it IS an advertising ploy. half the TV ads are american, and they use american MPG. so if you se an american ad for a toyota camry getting 30 mpg, then you see a canadian ad for a mustang getting 34 MPG its misleading. thats all im saying.
and I'm not saying everyone should stop using imperial MPG. I'm simply stating its misleading when half the people are using the US MPG and half are using imperial MPG. That's all. No harm meant.

2011 Nissan frontier 4.0l 4x4 auto

11L/100 kms hwy
14-15L/100 kms city
Winter time I average 18L/100 mixed
Towing summer (quads of sled trailer with salt shield) 18-20L/100
Winter towing sled 20-22L/100kms

This is based on average wind and doing 100 to 105 kms per hour Highway
Big wind it gets bad
No wind I have seen a couple litres less
If I drive 90 kph in summer (no towing) I get 9.5L/100 hwy

believe it or not some people were born before you !!
metric came in around 1977
until then MPG is what Canadians used as a measurement.
Canadian gallons were and always have been imperial
the window stickers used to say imperial or US MPG
some of us old timers still use this old way of calculating MPG
L/100 is way to inaccurate - need to add a decimal in there at least.
all the men that i talk to will ask US or Imp when talking MPG.
its the way we grew up.

and my truck does'nt get 30 MPG
it does 27 MPG IMP empty at 70MPH interstate.

oh just for you, thats 112.654 KMH
and 10.462 L/100 KM
