Septic tank problem

I have a 1000 gallon black poly two chamber tank at the lake.

I'll jump to the problem and leave out the loooooooong search for it.

The 4" ABS pipe that enters the tank from the house broke off at the tank and dropped about 2 inches...

I excavated and noted the tank end of the 4" pipe has a female coupling with fine(ish) threads. The tank has or rather HAD a coupling that was a thin male fine thread extension that fit into the female (much thinner than the 4" ABS pipe and looks pretty wimpy.

It appears that the connection was never adequate since the broken male threaded part appears to have only been about 1/4 of the way into the coupling. One can see this by examining the female end with the remnant of the male in it.

Temp fix was to reduce the 4" pipe to 3" so it would fit inside the old male coupling.

I'm looking to repair this but having difficulty finding parts.

I think I need a new male coupling. This is complicated since I can't get the old male threaded part out of the tank.

What am I doing wrong? Where do I find parts.
