No they have opt'd out of supporting Trackshare for the time being. It's unfortunate but times do change.

I hope that people still find TrackShare valuable today with the likes of facebook etc. We have been a strong community for over 15 years now , I have met a lot of people and made many friends from this site (as I am sure lots of you have too). Hope to continue for years to come!

Please continue to support the vendors we do have - they are keeping the site alive today.

Thanks everyone!

To be honest I'm not even sure. I was basing my opinion mostly on what I've seen from the fishing forums, lots are just using FB instead.

Seen alot of people and sponsors come and go in the last 12 years on here. one that i miss the most is vinney, man that guy could sell tires lol . I wonder if trackshare is maybe overcharging the sponsors ? the guys at adventure and specialty seemed to do alot of business on here. or maybe not as much as it seemed ... i dunno . too bad to see them gone

I don't think overcharging is the issue... Probably the fact that its constant bashing of brands, and/or dealers "all in good fun." All in good fun happens occasionally, but slamming a guy for a spelling mistake, for example is just childish. I know of one or two Supporting vendors in the last year or so who have flat out refused to post/reply to requests, for the simple reason, that if they do, undoubtedly, someone will open their mouth and it will become a giant gong show. Maybe I'm over reacting, but it gets so out of hand with certain members, I think it honestly turns people off form the site, and from certain retailers. If you have something valuable to post, do it, if you have a joke or funny story, post it, heck even if you want to poke a little fun, do it. If you want to force your brand down someones throat, or go further than having a little fun, save it! Ok rant over...

As a new dealer myself, advertising is incredibly important but a lot of it comes at a cost. A simple one time ad in the newspaper starts at three hundred dollars or more. Those websites you see most dealers have run$300 plus a month. As a business owner it's incredibly hard to decide where to advertise, what gives you the most bang for your buck, and what ends up being a donation to a group or cause. Now you have social media that is virtually free providing you consistent post updates and you can immediately track how many people have seen your ad. And when you have three newspapers community coffee shops papers, local sports groups all asking for advertising money it's hard. It's even harder when people negatively respond to you or your business. Just my thoughts as a business owner.

In my opinion there could be a bit more moderating and control. Some posts go way to far before they get closed. When I joined back in 05 there was a lot more moderating and it was a lot harder to get away with garbage posts. I myself have hesitated a few times to post for the fear of it going to far and getting out of control and I'm not a dealer. With the way some threads go it doesn't surprise me that some dealers are stepping out. Don't get me wrong I've met a lot of great people on here and made some good friends, but also met some people that I wish I hadn't.
