Where can we find good conditions for sledding

Hey Everyone,

My brother and I are looking to get out riding. I'm near Winnipeg and he is up in the north west corner of the province (near Roblin/Russel). Preferably looking for something somewhere between us with good conditions. Any lodges or trail systems you could recommend would be awesome. Thanks for your help.

Not a whole lot in between that I know of- If you go up to Swan River, you will be pleased with conditions there.

There are great trails west of Ducks, on the Sask side, nice run from Roblin. Check out Moose Range Lodge, North of Aaron Sask, south of Hudson Bay, nice place to stay, great trails, and you can swing back east to Swan, and back down to the Roblin area. Done this numerous times, and itís never enough.

The Whiteshell has good trail conditions but it's the wrong way for you.

Will likely do lac du bonnet, seven sisters, milner ridge area. Can anyone reccommend a place to stay near the trails:

https://snoman.mb.ca/trails.php?trailsID=8

Just the two of us up there I think. Looking for a place with a kitchen that is clean. Nicer is better but we are not picky.

I heard the Moosehorn - Faulkner area got some really good snow and all trails are open. Don't know where to stay though.

That area looks great and the new snow would be welcome. Any one have an idea on accomodations up there?

I can't vouch for the snow conditions as I haven't been up there yet but Mossehorn just opened a new hotel last fall. new from ground up! You can ride right out from there. Make sure you lock your sleds up at night just to be on the safe side.
Happy trails!

This was in Thompson this weekend. Not my pic, friend of a friend. We're a bit farther north and don't have quite as much, but still likely a good 3 ft of ground cover in most places

Going to try and put a few miles on the sled in the Ducks for a few days. No snow to speak of around home again this year.

I am sure it will be worth it again.
Snow is level with the roads in most spots on the way to Thompson.
I have seen spots where sleds were stuck in stow over 6 feet deep
