Any derby's May 8th?

In case I wimp out this Sat for St.Malos's ride,,,does anyone know of another derby comming up Sat, May 8th? The weather for this sat is just looking to cold...

There is a derby in riding mountain. It is on May 8 registration is from 10- 12. Donny from eastman always goes and he says it is really good. Seem like we always have last minuit things to do for our derby so we never can make it.

Thanks Quadzilla,,I'll keep that one in mind.!.I was sure I had seen a poster though,,at the Piney Derby, on one of the register tables, about a derby, May 8th,,in Pansy??? I may be wrong on the place..but am sure of the date....hmmm

Hey Honda-chick, there is a derby in Pansy May 8th. Posters are up in most areas now. The derby runs somewhere through the Ducks Unlimitted refuge north of Vita and up towards Zhoda, then to some of the other towns around Pansy. Heard that the tail was really wet but they are putting up bridges to cross the really bad spots, but there should be a dry run for old bears like me! I'll be getting a poster tomorrow to see exactly what's going on.(how long, gas stops, pay outs, etc.) Are you guys planning on going?

Thanks for that info!!! I was begining to think I was seeing things..*lol*. As for if we will go...geez..now I have more decissions to make. ..I think it would be a good ride..as long as the bridges hold..:rolley2: ..*S*. Of course Dwight wont be using them,,as its usually me that goes around..lol. So we will think on it,,and let you know! Oh and hey,,Dwight wannted to know if yours and Terry's bear baits were being hit yet???

You can tell D. that they have been getting hit really hard the last 4 days. One really big one just started yesterday(saw the tracks in the mud by the bait) As for Pansy there will be a few of us going. Might not be the best or biggest derby, but I never went in that one before, so going to do some sight seeing. I saw the way Bowhunter hit that creek in Piney-NO FEAR!! so any swamp in or around Pansy should be a breeze!!!

Tell him that there is plenty of time for hunting, for now do the quad rides. All the derbies and rides will prepare him for getting into that hotspot where the Manitoba Trophy is... All the mud and water will keep that fever under control!!

The Saturday 8 May would be good for me. I will try to make it. So far there isn't anything on my calender for that day. After reading your description UB it sounds like a really cool ride,bridges,etc! Who is sponsoring it, or is it just a ride? Whats the cost?
Also where is Pansy MB? I will have to find the start point.
Maybe we could meet up somewhere before hand.

Got some info about Pansy Derby. It's put on by Canadian Diabetes Assoc. Registration 9am-12 noon all hands in by 6pm. Entry $6.00/hand 3 for $15.00 Prizes 1st-25%, 2nd-15%, 3rd-10%prizes are to be given just after the derby. Still tring to get ahold of a contact to see what the trail is like and how far... Pansy is about 1hr. south east of WPG. If your comming from Wpg area down 59 south towards St.Malo. Turn left, (east) on PR 403 (just before St.Malo). Go east till you come to intersection 403 and 216 continue straight through (road turns to gravel) till you come to the first stop sign facing you, turn right (south) and go 1/2 mile. If you think your in the middle of nowhere, Welcome to Pansy Park!!! As for the trail, all I heard was coffee shop talk, but it sounds good! (Better than having a blank weekend) Back with more info soon...

It's a really beautiful area so I would imagne it will be a nice ride hopefuly the weather will co-operate.

The run is about 35 miles long approx. There is a dry run that is a little shorter. Also there is a lot of swamp running (peat moss trails). I was told that it will be a serious mud slingging event!(hope so!!)
