Plate Position? - CTE

Just wondering where you guys put your license plate on the CTE's. I can't really find a suitable spot.

Probably end up building a bracket or something, but maybe there is a spot I am over looking. I was thinking of riveting onto the storage compartment lid, but not a big fan of drilling into nice new plastic. The rear fenders are too tapered to do anything with. Hmmmmm

try zip tieing it to the rear rack that way you can flip it up to access the rear storage box ...for now. peeps usually mount it to a rear two up/storage box. if you have kids or a wife you'll eventually get one for the convience of the extra seat and the added storage so i would stay away from drilling.

...thats what I did also...just zip tied in to the rack on one side as a temporary location...that was four years ago ! still there today..use a couple per side just to make sure it doesn't fall off

Ya, did the same thing, just four ty-raps to the back rack and that's about it. Like the other guys said once you get a storage box you can screw it to the back of that, you are getting one, right?? Those tries still look pretty clean, we'll have to go for a ride down the floodway this week, anybody else interested?? Maybe Wednesday evening meet at the 59'er around 6:00.

Ditto

I just used electrical ties and hung it off of the back rack. That way you can still lift it up and have access to the rear compartment.

Mm

I just put mine in the back compartment where they have the manuals straped in. I took the manuals out so they won't get wet and the plate fit in there perfectly. Granted I live where I will most likely never get asked about my plate. Juast a thought!

Got it done with two big tywraps on the two bars on the back. Looks ok, and will work until I can get the bracket made. I am thinking of some flat iron with two holes on it. Hanging them under the back compartment using the hing screws. And then just heat and twist(before putting it near plastic of course). SHould make for a rigid mount fairly out of the way.

Those tires weren't dirty because those were pictures right out of the back of you truck. Couple of rips up and down the driveway only. Put about 150kms on it over the weekend. Have to change the oil already. Sure am glad I only have to do that every 1000km's after this!

Wednesday is cool. The 59er is about 30km from my house though. If I can convince a buddy to come along, I'd feel better about riding that distance with a couple of guys.

Maybe should be announced in "plan a ride" forum as an evening ride.

just a thought, if you mount that plate under the back storage comp. and follow a select few around, it wont be there by the end of the ride.
i have mine on my storage box, i thought of mounting it lower some where, but im glad i didnt.
stick to the nice trails and keep outta the deep stuff youd be fine. but that will only last for a very short time :)))

I always put my plate on my quad box on one side.. so if I'm doing something bad the ranger can't see it. Whenever I get random checked they never care that it's on the side.
