This always sucks to hear. Any specifics on your machine that would help ID it? I'll keep an eye out for it.

all of winnipeg is a hot spot. the country is getting terrible too. last year in my town of maybe 200 people had about 5 sleds stolen and a few attempts to steal sleds. my dads friend woke up to his wifes sled starting in the garage. luckily the dummies tried stealling the 1 sled out of 3 that was broken haha. it was stuck in reverse and wouldnt come out of reverse. so the guy had the garage door open and tried taking off but didnt go no where but backwards lol.so the owner got out of bed and ran outside in his underwear and almost caught him but he ran away. it was crazy. i had my truck stolen last year just before my bday and it took them 4 days to find it and it wasnt even half a mile away from my house. if the farmer didnt see it i probably would of found it before the cops. it was sitting in the dam lol. the theives put a stick on the gas pedal and let her go head first into river. long story short dont let autopac push you around. stay firm with them cause they will screw you any chance they get. i guess after 40 years of screwing the public they got pretty good at it. tell them what you want. and go onto kijiji and all those other sites and find quads similar to yours. year, model, miles, accesories and so on so you can get a good idea your self and show autopac so they take that into consideration because they just go off blue book value and a few ads. you coulda had a mint bike no scratches or anything and they'll still go of blue book unless you have lots of pictures and documents. sorry for the rant i just hate mpi. i really hope if they dont find it you get what you wanted for it and your process isnt as painful as mine. i wouldnt want my vehicle, doesnt matter what kind after its been shit kicked and beat on by whoever stole it. never know what they did.

It's blue, with a blue rear tow bar & blue back rest/trunk/2 up seat. Has All-Balls decals all over the front. Outlaw MST tires & Polaris rims.

I agree with you. I never lived in the USA, but know how they react since I deal with the boarder crossing & customs. Shoot 1st, ask questions later. I like that rule & WPS knows that I would do that. That what's wrong with Canada, crimals are the victims.

I know for a fact that the chain saw they took will bite & will loose a limb. Guess that will make them think twice next time.

insurance takes months to pay out, i had to go get a loan to replace mine when it was stolen, and just signed over the autopac cheque, as 420 said stand firm with MPIC i ended up with a fair payout but most times you get raped, good luck with this and sorry for your loss, been there.

Thanks guys for your advice. I know what numbers I am looking for & have all paperwork to prove it. Just have to do a little digging on replacement costs.

MPI will also pay you something like $38 per day for a rental quad (for up to 30 days). Your dealer may let you rent one from him for this price while yours is gone.

MPI doesn't publish this fact in too many places, and will ask why you need a rental.

They will also screw you over on the condition. When stolen and not recovered, they assume it was in "fair" condition and offer money based on their fair condition blue book price. They will also only value any accessories at 30% of replacement cost. They don't know where someone can buy used accessories for 30% of the price, but that is all they will offer.
