I live in that area also, went out today to move my quad in the yard cause of some yard work I need to do.

I keep my quad in the backyard covered with a wheel boot on it.

So I uncover it and notice my head light cover is off and someone has cut my ignition wires and probably tried to hot wire it. I don't know how they thought they were going to get it out of the yard, the gate I use for that was locked and my trailer was behind it locked to the fence. My walking gates are only 36 wide. At least they were nice enough to cover my quad up again.

Just once I would like to catch the little b**terds, they would fall down alot before the cops got here.

So now the ride the wife and I were planning for tomorrow is off. F**K.

MPI doesn't publish this fact in too many places, and will ask why you need a rental.

They will also screw you over on the condition. When stolen and not recovered, they assume it was in "fair" condition and offer money based on their fair condition blue book price. They will also only value any accessories at 30% of replacement cost. They don't know where someone can buy used accessories for 30% of the price, but that is all they will offer.
I had dealings with MPI on something similar long time ago and came ahead more than I was expecting. But I will keep this in mind & ask about the lost of use to my adjuster. MPI hotline had mentioned the lost of use on my file & she was only looking at the quad file.

I get some of my service work done at my dealer of choice - who - will - if requested put a comment on the bill about the condtion of the machine at the time of the servicing. I have never had to use this but it can't hurt to have the dealer's opinion documented prior to an incident ..........it certainly cannot hurt !!

Good point. I may have that on file. 1 thing is MPI is very dedicated on finding it & fixing it if found. The trick is the VIN comes back as a USA sold item & the dealers in WPG don't want to work on it since I didn't purchase it in Canada. I guess I cross that bridge if & when I get to it.

I wouldn't worry about your vin. If you were wanting warranty work that would be a different story but repairs after that any shop can do.
