Looking for Bombardier Iltis

Looking for Bombardier military Iltis. Figure it would be cheaper than a side by side & street legal. A jeep would be great but I like the Iltis for its rarety.

I don't know that it would be cheaper then a sxs. These are pretty rare. You might luck out and find one that needs work for cheap.

I thought I saw something similar to this yesterday outside an auto repair shop on Berry St. between Sargent and St. Matthews. Can't remember the name of the shop but they had 2 similar looking military vehicles out front for sale.

theres one for sale near the airport. Partially restored. Going for slightly more than 30k last time I checked.

That has to be the one I saw as I was coming home from the airport down Berry St.

30k, wow. These were selling at auction approx 5years ago for 5k when I wasn't looing for one. Go figure. I'll call Jack. I used to work for him about 15 years ago.

1985 Cdn. "Iltis" ex-army ( Bombardier ) Jeep.
From my personal collection:

1985 Cdn "Iltis" as formerly used by the Cdn. armed forces ( Bombardier ) Jeep. Vg. running condition ( 74,000 Km ) . Good body and bumpers with no dents or deformations.
Original German AUDI 4 cylinder engine, transmission etc. Correct & very good Michelin Tires.
Vg. Batteries.
Comes with 4 issue windowed removable doors ( not shown ). Original very long, spring-loaded (retractable ) radio antenna. A radio telephone is situated in and protruding from the open glove compartment. Olive drab issue Body Armour Vest slung over the driver's seat backrest. Gas Mask with filter, positioned on dashboard. Ridgid o.d. gas mask container exposing two mine finder ear phones on passenger seat. Olive drab battle gear soft case with carry handles on back seat. Large olive drab plastic ( empty ) container with removable water/weather seal at one end prominently marked "CRUISE 500 " and having the appearance of a missile container is situated over a fender well next to the back seat. Vehicle has a folding shovel and original gun retaining clamps situated on the interior.
All also visible in detail from the outside when the vehicle is parked.

Currently licensed for the road and fully insured as a classical vehicle at a cost of under $ 200.- per annum. Vehicle is kept garaged and out of the weather and only driven when the sun is shining.

$ 5,500 with accessories included ( Would take some guns in trade )

Which diesel did he put in? Mechanical fuel pump? Was it a difficult conversion. Wonder what kind of speed he can drive on the highway with a diesel since these units are geared low.
