I stopped in here on the KQ a few weeks ago and met the owners, very nice people and a GREAT location/facility. It would be worth an inquiry.

They are about 15 minutes N of Kenora on the Redditt Rd.

My opinion was based on a 15 minute chat and walk-about. I assume yours is based on personal experience....care to elaborate!

Thanks for the PM; to those that didn't get the "whole story from HRL" I can only say its private enough to stay off the interweb.

The explanation cleared up the reason for his extreme opinion and now that I've heard it I have to agree (I know a bit about the "back story" as well), sooooooooooooooooo...

I wholeheartedly withdraw my recommendation to check out Silverbirch.

I appreciated the clarification :)

If you are going to post that it is that terrible it might be a good idea to post why someone shouldn't go there?

Smith's Camps is a great place to stay on LOTW, or anywhere for that matter. Al and Jodi are great people and run a fantastic operation.

dtsinc is on a distinguished road
I have stopped at Smith Camps in the winter time on sleds before. Great hospitality was received. I would expect the same in the summer months. I know someone with a cabin around the point and master anglers have been caught in the area. Good luck.
