Vegas baby!!

Ok all, we're thinking of going to Vegas for 3-4 days, what is a good hotel to stay at? I was thinking of something around the middle of the strip so we would be close to everything (walking distance). But anything would be fine. I found rooms at the Stratosphere for $32/night.

Don't stay at the Strat.... it is at the north end of the strip and not in the safer part of town. Look at Harrah's, Flamingo or Bally's. You will pay a bit more but you will be in the centre of the strip where all the action is and within walking distance. You will be cabbing it a lot if you stay at the strat.

The cosmopolitan is good bang for buck and the vdara also. Rooms are beautiful and very well priced. The strats is way of the strip and horrible. Lots of hotels to choose from the mirage is nice also and new york new york and the mgm are all located in good spots. 3-4 days will go quick. Best thing to do is pick one end of the strip because you will be busy visiting that end only in the time you have

Strat is one of the cheaper ones and a good price.. i have stayed there 3 times all were good. i just need a place to park my head for a few hours so i have no issues with it.. But if you like to hang out in your room then there are definitly better places to stay. it is far from the action. but in my opinion it doesnt matter where you stay really because at some point your legs and feet are going to be just shot. I think the strip is 5 miles long. There is a double decker bus that runs up and down the strip all day and night and will take you into old vegas or freemont st. i think its $7 for a 24 hour pass cash only. Make the bus your best friend. Taxi and limo are also available all night if you want to pay the $$$ but really not needed.

Harrahs. It's in the middle of everything.

For $20 you can get an unlimited uses pass for the mono rail. It will take you to any casino, once you get familiar with the strip, you can get anywhere n the strip in 5-10 minutes using the monorail.

we stayed at the Harrah's a couple years ago. Close to everything, clean rooms, and reasonably priced. Ask about getting a view of the strip if you can. We could watch the volcano erupting right from our room.

We did use the monorail and it's a great way to get around to the further hotels. It didn't you to all the hotels when we were there but maybe it does now.

Harrahs is within walking distance to most of the good hotels. Have fun, I want to go back!

The mono rail DOES NOT take you to every hotel. There is a map on there stops and it's a good value if you know what you want to do or go that day. . Been there 4 times in the last 3 years for 7 days stay every time and getting to know the in and outs of Vegas. Check the hotels i mentionned and and prices and compare them to other hotels. It's a awesome value. Also the MGM has new rooms and are very well priced. If you don't care how your room looks like then harrahs and flamingo and imperial these are all cheap rooms and in good spots on the strip

http://www.lasvegasmaps.com/stripmap.html

Some of the new hotels are not on there. Best thing to do is pick an end to stay at and stay there and then go back and visit the other end. Once your there eveything looks close BUT ITS NOT you can walk for ever LMAO

LOL, did that the first night we got there. Walked from Harrah's all the way to the Strat and back. Man were we ever sore the next day! Wear comfortable shoes and grab a drink whenever you can because you might not know where the next stop is. LOL.

we stay at the tuscany suites. 3 minutes from the strip, right behind paris. 7-11 close by, great rates, a nice smaller casino with great restaurants. Walk to the strip, and you are right in the middle.

after being to vegas many times and staying at most of the big hotels this little gem is where we stay now.....only 5 stories and you're in your room in 5 mins, not a 15-30 mins walk to your room from the strip everytime, ugggh that gets boring real quick.......nice rooms and very reasonable and also a steak and egg breakfast starting at 5 am for after those long nights lol
