mind if I pump you for some details?

Make/model?
size?
cost?
extras?
where?

I was seriously looking at them a couple years ago, but they were absolutely stupid priced around here!

I was looking at the Big Green Egg here in Saskatoon but when Canadain Tire had the Kammado Pro for 699.00 had to go for it.We've had a lot of fun with it this summer, ribs and burgers mostly. Did you compare the two before you bought your egg?

I did look at them. Costco had one as well for $600.
I wasnt sure what accessories, if any, came with either one.
The package the dealer had set up for sale in his store has everything to get started, plus a few extra accessories that are not included with the previously mentioned 2. So for me to add the accessories to compare apples to apples, was less than $200.
For the few bucks difference I went the the best of the best.

Unfortunately it not Canadian made. It is made in the USA.
They have both US and Canadian sites.
Sorry I guess I could, would, or should have posted a link.

I must admit that after a bit of digging and reading the small print that my Kommado Pro is made in China, that was a little disapointing. Saw the BGE at Costco a month after we bought ours for 600.00.If the Egg is made in the States that's a good thing.

The BGE's offered up at Costco dont come with the BGE lifetime warranty either. Only valid if purchased through BGE dealer.

Alot of the knock offs (no offence) are definitely not built the same as well from what I have read. Some, not all, are not completely ceramic. Only the top or the bottom are but not necessarily both.

As with buying anything there is a reason why the imitaters are less expensive than the real thing.

I did alot of digging before justifying the cost fo one of these things. As previously stated the cost difference when everything is on the table was only $1-200 bucks.

Green egg is wicked.. I don't have one but wish i did. My bro in law has one and he is addicted to cooking on the thing. He has done tons of stuff on there and i have been lucky to enjoy the flavor of the egg a few times now and it is amazing. Just to cut into a brisket and see the smoke ring and how juicy it is then to slap a bit of the pulled pork on a bun.. to die for.. best eating ever!!!
