Transporting deer

Just a question for anyone who knows, if my wife shoots a deer and tags it then needs to leave, can I transport it without her being there? I have not looked at the hunting guide or done any other research on it yet

Hey gkram1985,

There is a possession part of the tag that she needs to sign and date, which gives you permission possess the animal.

Hope this helps. Good luck hunting.

I was waiting for someone to say something along those lines. Might be a lot of wives, daugters, first cousins, girlfriends and grandmothers "out hunting" this year. BTW don't hunt with your wife and girlfriend cause guaranteed that will get messy.

I'm sure the COs will be on lookout for that this year with only one tag. The bag limits were lowered for a reason. I hope we all do the right thing out there.
