Beware Riding Mars Sandhills

My son and a couple of his buddies went for a ride today and some scumbag cut a tree down across the trail on a blind curve. He seen it at last minute and laid his bike down and escaped without any serious injuries and little damage . It amazes how cowardly and how these scumbags are and have so little regard for someone's well being! So beware if your riding in that area.

Do you know where this was exactly? Please use caution out there. These extremists have been known to endanger and intimidate ORV riders in the past.

Also make sure that your son and his friends all have plates on their bikes or they can be charged with an unregistered vehicle. There has been an increased presence of RCMP and COs in the area due to these extremists making RCMP reports regularly.

Sounds like there are a lot of trees down from the last storm, probably end of July - beginning of August. We'll be cleaning them up before trail grooming starts.

This tells me you were travelling too fast for the trail. What if it was somebody walking or a bear?

This tells me you read my post too fast as it wasn't me. I wasn't there it was my son. The intent of my post was to warn people if they were riding in that area. Regardless if it was a tree, person, bear,or a squirrel he never hit the tree as he got stopped before he hit it.

Some people are always out to turn things around on ya eh? Gets old in a big hurry, would be nice if people could take things as they are for a change instead of making arguments

Glad to hear the he was not hurt ,blind corner's are dangerous at any speed that is why it is best to always stop on the trails far enough away from blind spots and far enough away from roads when parked in the ditches from drive ways .People cant be seen from the other side so someone could jump the road and land on top of you ,and I have seen people jump roads on both quads and snowmobiles quite a few times.

Well sometimes maybe natural selection can be a good thing, lawn darts as an example, not meant in a bad way, but some people definitely need a wake up call once in awhile, I've had some close calls before, but it goes to show how the trail can change literally overnight
