Question Real World Full Size 4X4 Truck Fuel Economy

Looking at getting me a newer full size 4X4 truck.
What are you all getting for fuel economy with/without towing?

16 mpg empty and depending on wind anywhere from 10-13 mpg towing; 2006 Chevy silverado 1500 z71 4x4 with 5.3L, I have gotten up to 20 with a tail wind empty (long trip from Roland to Grand Rapids), that's US MPGs, not Canadian MPGs and avg speed of 115

Highway:22mpg is easy with a ford 150 5l real world driving.
City: 17mpg but really do not do any city driving to speak of so this is off the computer.

Spec's: Newer Ford F150 4x4, 5l, crew cab, long box, Cap which weighs about 200kg and normally another 200kg of gear getting on average 13l / 100km (22mpg) all day / every day on the highway. Thats driving 105-110 at normal and reasonable pedal pressure.

Now that ranges +/- 2l/100km depending on wind, etc...

Now I hook up an 18' dble axle flat deck with a little weight (total weight maybe 1500 kgs including trailer and I loose 3 mpg.

about 35% better than a 2005 Ford F150 I had before with almost same setup.

'07 sierra with the 5.3L the average economy meter reads 13.4L/100k and I've never reset it, 110,000 on the odo now. Pulled a 17' fiberglass camper to medicine hat and back this summer and it did 15.3L/100km on the way there and 13.1L/100km on the way back. Unloaded on the highway it will do 10L/100km. Close to the window sticker, cant complain

04 Silverado, 4.8L with only 80,000 kms 22 - 23 MPG hwy empty, don't know about city mileage as I don't spend enough time there to get an accurate picture. When towing a full size travel trailer 11.5 to 13 MPG depending on wind

can you guys please specify if you're using imperial MPG or the typical american, when you post.

so misleading when one guy says he gets 28-30 MPG. and another says he gets 20 at best.

imperial MPG is gay. dont know why anyone uses it.

06 dodge 2500 diesel, 5.9l imperial gallons at best I have seen just over 28, that was on the interstate doing about 120-130kph, regularily though it gives me around 20 or so, pulling doesn't really change much...unless it's a 10000lb unit, then it drops to around 15 or so, depending on weather/wind/hills...but all kinds of power to use anytime i want, running 37x12.50/17 mtr's and 5'' lift.....

Gay? What country do you live in? Last time I checked we use Imperial gallons in Canada LOL. It is easy to convert, take the us mpg multiply by 1.2 and you have imperial MPG (not exact but close enough)

I live in Canada, and in Canada they use l/100km. Not mpg.

90% of people, even Canadians, use the American MPG. So when someone uses imperial MPG it is very misleading.
