Surgerys?
I just found out that its in my best interest for the doctors to re break my leg to fix it and allow it to heal straight as it is very crooked...As of Friday I'm going under the knife in the beginning December, This got me thinking and wondering if anyone has had a surgery similar to this one? Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I've had surgery a few times to repair breaks never to re-break any bones though.What specifics do you want .Staples or stitches?lol.

I'm more just interested to see what sort of procedure has been done to compare it to what my surgeon has explained to me.

Ive shattered my elbow into 5 pieces and got 2 pins and wire put in my arm and that was painful if i would flex my muscles i guess it would move the pins or bones around in my arm the pain was unbareable to with stand got 16 staples but they dont hurt when they come out at all feels just like stiches coming out.

well a couple of months after the surgery everything is healing. was on the table for about 3 hours... 2 plates and 17 screws and 65 staples later...

Good to hear all is well, there is a chance my g/f was part of the surgery (she is an OR nurse) if it was at HSC. She really enjoys the ortho ward. (pretty sure thats the broken limbs and such) And yes much of the tools used such as drills, bits she said are very similar to what we use in the shop. Even 2 part epoxy's, im pretty sure they just jb weld them rods and stuff in place.

Before and after pics, they were going to take a wedge out of my pelvis but the doc decided to take the wedge out of my leg just below the knee. Definitely a better alternative to the pelvis.
