GPS seminar, Saturday Dec 1/2012

Hand held GPS seminar, Saturday December 1st at the Howard Johnson 3740 Portage Ave., Wpg (downstairs in the "Corral")
Seminar will start at 10 a.m. and probably run until 4 p.m. depending on the number people. Because of the location, no minors will be allowed as the room is licensed.
The seminar will be mostly based on Garmin units as this is the most popular but this should not deter people with other units, always something to learn. Bring your units along with you and also your laptop if you have one if you want to learn how to upload/download. Cost to attend this seminar will be $20 per person.

Those interested please pm me so I can keep track of how many people are committed.

Also, the owner of the Howard Johnson was kind enough to let us use this room for free so this keeps everyone's costs down but I encourage everyone to plan on having lunch there, he has offered to have a server cater to us so let's show our appreciation.

I would love to come but looks like we are moving right on that weekend. Wonder if there is anyway to take some notes on a laptop or something. A standard operating procedure like we make a work would be nice. LOL finally something I might actually use it for. Or if someone could ask what sites help too.

It was a very good course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and it was an opportunity to ask questions and find out if you were actually using the thing properly and getting the most out of it. She was also very good on survival awareness............former military. She really believed there's no such thing as a dumb question.

I learned some new things and reinforced some things that I wasn't quite sure if I was doing right. I think my GPS is set up much better now.

Met some really nice folks there too.

Changed the mount on the sled today so the GPS would sit horizontal. Took the GPS with me on the daily dog walk just for kicks to try some things and get it calibrated properly.
